Palm Cove lies at the foot of the Great Dividing Range, where it meets the Coral Sea.

Located only 25 minutes drive north of Cairns and 40 minutes drive south of Port Douglas, on the Great Barrier Reef coast. The area offers a halcyon mix of refined international resort style restaurants and cafes, with all the character and country friendliness of a classic beach house location.
Whether strolling the melaleuca and palm lined beachfront promenade; catching a catamaran from the jetty to the Reef; or on the greens of a nearby Championship golf course, it takes but a moment to relax in an environment so rare and charming as this. The Great Barrier Reef is at its best in this region and is easily accessible from cruise boats leaving directly from the Palm Cove jetty.
The Great Dividing Range intersects the coast to the north of Palm Cove, constraining the village to a narrow one kilometre wide coastal strip and creating a rainforest clad mountain escarpment, which dominates the landscape. Sanctuary Palm Cove is so close to the shores of Palm Cove you can hear the ocean. |
